WHICH SKIS SHOULD I HIRE?
At Hoys we stock the very latest technology entry level skis to ensure learning to ski is as fast and enjoyable as possible. These skis are lightweight and forgiving, meaning that you won’t fall over every time you make a mistake. Our sport ski range is appropriate for beginners and non-beginners who just like a leisurely cruise on the green runs. Our performance and demo skis are for aspiring intermediate and advanced skiers who want to improve their skills
Welcome to high-performance skis! As a ski renter, you have likely not been exposed to the technological advantages of high-performance skis and thus, the skis you have been renting are probably holding you back. It’s not much more to upgrade – our performance fleet provides a cost effective option to get on some great product. We encourage you to try a few different skis until you find your perfect match. These are the skis that other stores rent as Demos and represent the best value ski rentals at Mt Hotham. This year we have our largest range ever including all mountain and freeride skis, women’s specific skis and some high-performance kids skis.

When you hire performance skis, we endeavour to provide you with stiffer boots to compliment your skiing technique. We stock the best brands including Rossignol, Salomon, Dalbello, HEAD, Atomic & Nordica. We recognise not all feet are the same shape. Your comfort is extremely important and the right fitting boots will enhance your skiing experience & ultimately assist you mastering the sport.

We have selected a range to suit different conditions and preference. Swap as often as you like (no charge) as snow conditions change or until you find your favourite! There are some awesome skis in our performance range you are welcome to swap to as well. Please note: Demo Skis & Boards not available at Hoys Omeo Ski Shop – only at our 3 on mountain shops & Harrietville. Also note – when renting Demo skis – same rate with or without boots but ski boots come from our performance level fleet.
